Logic puzzles you can play all day

Pencil Grids is a home for pencil-and-paper logic puzzles, rebuilt for your phone and browser. Each puzzle type has:

  • a daily puzzle, so you can keep a streak,
  • unlimited mode at four difficulty levels,
  • an archive of every past daily,
  • printable sheets for when you'd rather use a real pencil.

Stuck? The hint button never just reveals the answer. It shows you the next logical step and explains it, the way a friend who's good at puzzles would. Every hint uses the same techniques as our guides, so you get better as you play.

The puzzles

  • Queens: place one queen in every row, column and colour region, with no two touching. A one-star Star Battle, as made famous by LinkedIn.
  • Tango: fill the grid with suns and moons, balanced in every line, no three in a row. Also known as Binairo or Takuzu.
  • Zip: draw one path through every cell, passing the numbers in order.
  • Nonograms: use number clues to reveal a hidden picture. Also called Picross or Griddlers.

More puzzle types are on the way, with Kakuro first. Everything is free, needs no account, and remembers your progress on your device.
